Trash Quest ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") is a gamified task-management app published by Neurospice Design Shop. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. We built Trash Quest to be quiet and low-stakes — it does not run ads, does not sell your data, and does not track you across other apps or websites.
When you sign in with Google or Apple, our authentication provider (Google Firebase Authentication) provides us with a unique account identifier and your basic profile information (such as your name and email address, depending on the provider and your choices). If you use Sign in with Apple, you may choose to hide your email, in which case we only receive a private relay address. We use this solely to create and secure your account and to sync your save across your devices.
To let you pick up where you left off on any device, we store your in-game progress in Google Cloud Firestore. This includes things like your creatures, items, buildings, tasks, streaks, settings, an optional self-chosen display name, and an optional shareable "player code." If you use the optional social features, this can include gifts you send or receive and your aggregate (non-identifying) contributions to community goals.
If you grant location permission, the App reads your device's location once to determine your approximate coordinates, which it sends to our weather provider (Open-Meteo) to fetch current local weather. The weather drives cosmetic, seasonal "moods" for the creatures. Your coordinates are not stored on our servers and are not used to identify you. If you decline, the App simply uses a neutral default weather.

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers needed to operate the App:

We keep your account and game save for as long as your account exists. Cached weather is kept briefly on your device and discarded. When you delete your account (see below), your save data is removed from our database.

If you are unable to access the App and want your account deleted, email us at the address below from the email tied to your account and we will delete it for you.
Trash Quest is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). It contains some light, comedic "trashy romance novel" flavor text and is intended for teen and adult audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Data is stored using Google Firebase with access rules that restrict each user to their own data, and we use Firebase App Check / Play Integrity to limit abuse. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
Our service providers may process and store data in the United States and other countries. By using the App you understand your information may be processed in countries with different data-protection laws than your own.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above when we do. Material changes will be reflected here at this URL.
